Remote work and IT in labor relations: discussion by the UBA Committee

On October 30, 2025, the Labor Law Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association held an held an online event titled “Remote Work and IT in Labor Relations: New Developments in Practice.”

The event was moderated by Serhii Silchenko, Deputy Chair of the UBA Labor Law Committee, Managing Partner at Roland. The keynote report was delivered by Inesa Letych, Acting Chair of the UBA Labor Law Committee, Counsel, Co-Head of the Labor Law Practice at Asters.

During the meeting, participants discussed current issues arising in the field of remote employment, in particular:

·  recent updates in the legal regulation of remote work;

· practical challenges in managing remote employees, in particular issues of disciplinary liability, dismissal, and the returning employees to office-based work;

· the use of video surveillance and other forms of employee monitoring and new court practice in this area.

The event brought together labor law specialists, HR experts, and representatives of the IT industry. Participants shared practical cases, discussed trends in court practice and legislative changes affecting the organization of remote work.
