The UBA Experts Discussed the Impact of IP on the Investment Attractiveness of Technology Businesses
On December 17, 2025, the UBA IP Law Committee and the UBA IT, Media and Personal Data Protection Committee held a joint online event entitled: “Intellectual Property in Scaling Technology Companies and Preparing for Investment and IPO.”
The event brought together lawyers, representatives of technology companies, innovators, and experts to discuss the key role of intellectual property assets in the value and competitiveness of technology businesses.
During the discussion, a number of important issues were addressed, including:
- how intellectual property affects investment attractiveness, company valuation, and M&A transactions;
- which IP aspects are most frequently reviewed by investors and which mistakes should be avoided prior to investment deals;
- specific features of IP management in MilTech companies when entering international markets;
- which internal IP processes are essential for successful scaling of IT businesses;
- how to properly prepare for IP due diligence and early-stage investment rounds.

Participants highlighted the practical value of the speakers’ recommendations and emphasized the importance of developing robust IP processes within the technology sector, particularly in light of the rapid growth of Ukrainian IT companies and their expansion into global markets.
