The final event of the «Young Criminal Lawyer’s School» took place
On December 18, 2024, the final event of the course «Young Criminal Lawyer’s School», organized by the UBA Committee on Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law, took place in Kyiv. The topic of the final meeting was «How to protect a client in a criminal case».
The following key issues were discussed during the event:
- Defense tasks during the pre-trial investigation.
- Alternative options for completing the case: exemption from liability, agreements, amnesty.
- Defense after the indictment is drawn up and the case is sent to court.
- Appeals and cassation appeals: tasks of the defense.
The event was moderated by Dmytro Nikiforov, member of the UBA Committee on Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law, partner at Bargen Law Firm.
The speaker was Serhiy Zhylich, attorney at Investment Service Ukraine, who shared his practical experience and offered effective strategies for defending clients in criminal cases.
