Improving procedural rules for reimbursement of court costs
The UBA Committee on Procedural Law has launched a series of events to improve court procedures. On March 7, 2025, Kyiv hosted the first event in a series of discussions initiated by the Council of the UBA Committee on Procedural Law. The topic of the meeting was “Improving the procedural rules for reimbursement of court costs”.
It is worth reminding that during the XII UBA Judicial Forum (December 6, 2024), the Concept of Improving Court Procedures was presented. In this regard, the Committee's Council has planned a series of professional discussions dedicated to the consideration of certain sections of the Concept and the development of relevant legislative initiatives.
The first event presented an analysis of current problems in the field of reimbursement of court costs and discussed possible ways to solve them. The participants also reviewed the comparative table to the draft Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Commercial Procedure Code of Ukraine and the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine on Improving the Mechanism for the Court to Allocate Court Costs”.
The event was moderated by Sergiy Gryshko, Chairman of the UBA Committee on Procedural Law, Managing Director of Queritus Ukraine. The speaker was Andriy Savchuk, Member of the Board of the UBA Committee on Procedural Law, Partner at MORIS. The discussion was joined by Judge of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court Oleksandr Banasko and Head of Analytical and Legal Work of the Commercial Court of Cassation within the Supreme Court Olesia Lukomska.
This is only the first of the planned events - soon the UBA will announce the next meetings that will contribute to the improvement of procedural rules and judicial practice in Ukraine.
