On September 25, 2025, an online event was held on the topic “Certain aspects of joint marital property in enforcement proceedings”, organized by the Enforcement Officers Section of the Ukrainian Bar Association jointly with the Ukrainian Bar Association Branch in Khmelnytskyi Region.

The event was moderated by Andriy Avtorgov, member of the UBA Board, private enforcement officer, Deputy Head of the Association of Private Enforcement Officers of Ukraine.

Participants had the opportunity to discuss a number of critical legal issues, including:

• the peculiarities of the emergence, transformation, and termination of joint property rights of spouses;
• legal aspects of foreclosure on indivisible joint property;
• joint and several liability of spouses for obligations;
• division of joint property in the context of mortgages;
• current court practice in these cases.

Substantive reports were presented by:

• Zorian Makovetskyi, Private Enforcement Officer, Acting Head of the UBA Section of Enforcement Officers
• Roman Posikira, attorney at law, Managing Partner of Roman Posikira Law Office
• Taras Kotormus, Judge of the Kamianka-Buzka District Court of Lviv Region
• Yurii Bilousov, Professor, Department of Private Law, Leonid Yuzkov Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law
• Yurii Pylypenko, Private Notary, Head of the Notarial Chamber of Ukraine’s Lviv Branch

The event brought together a wide professional audience: private enforcement officers, lawyers, judges, notaries, and academics, who had the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss complex practical situations that arise in the enforcement of decisions regarding joint marital property.
