UBA held a discussion on legal changes regarding social protection rights of military personnel and police officers

On Friday, July 5, the UBA Committee on Military Law, Military Justice, and Veterans' Rights organized an event titled "Changes in the Law Regarding Ensuring Social Protection Rights of Military Personnel and Police Officers."

The key issues discussed by the participants were:

  • Military duty and recruitment centers.
  • Basic general military training: procedure, deferment, and exemption.
  • Material support for conscripts in connection with enlistment or recruitment for military service.
  • Problematic issues related to the consideration of reports.
  • New grounds for discharge from military service.

The discussion was moderated by Kateryna Anishchenko, Deputy Chair of the UBA Committee on Military Law, Military Justice, and Veterans' Rights, Lawyer at RIYAKO&PARTNERS.

The speakers at the discussion included:

  • Mykhailo Bannov, Lawyer at the Main Directorate of Military Justice, Ministry of Defence of Ukraine;
  • Daria Panfilova, lawyer, Head at Panfilova & Partners Law Firm, PhD in Law;
  • Daria Tarasenko, lawyer specializing in mobilization and military service issues.
