IBA podcast: The role of lawyers in the intersection of climate change, sustainability and corporate governance

The International Bar Association (IBA) released the podcast "The ESG and sustainability landscape", that addresses the role of lawyers in the intersection of climate change, sustainability and corporate governance.

The podcast authors note that the role of corporations in being part of both the problem and the solution of the climate crisis and sustainability has never been more pronounced. Pressure from activist investors and financial institutions is holding companies increasingly accountable for their environmental, social and governance, or ESG, performance.

Discussing these issues at the IBA’s annual conference in Miami, are:

  • Lillian Rae Lindsay, co-head, Public International Law and Business and Human Rights practices, Clifford Chance; IBA Business Human Rights Committee Advisory Board;
  • William Sisson, World Business Council for Sustainable Development;
  • Motoko Aizawa, author and researcher on the sustainability challenges of mega-infrastructure development, investment and finance;
  • Samantha Rowe, International Dispute Resolution and Business Integrity Groups, Debevoise & Plimpton.
