The UBA Committee on International Law invites you to a virtual coffee chat devoted to the topic “Legal writing without pain. How to write effectively and transnationally”.

Our Committee is a well-known platform for networking among international experts. We invite business representatives and legal professionals to join informal virtual meetings over a cup of coffee to discuss challenges and share solutions in cross-border matters.

In times when correspondence, contract drafting, and translation take place at high speed and within multinational teams, the style of legal writing has become a matter of both reputation and safety.

Over virtual coffee, we will discuss how to make legal writing effective and clear:

• Strategy and structure: how to craft a text that is not only read to the end but also accepted without unnecessary questions.

• Abbreviation and proofreading: how to remove unnecessary elements while preserving content, style, and protection.

• Cross-border issues and multilingual documents: how to work with foreign legal concepts and legal translation.
